I’m on a mission. The objective is not more cowbell but to live in the moment.
The kind of living that makes you wake up in the morning with a smile on your face. A pure happiness that can’t be bought in a mall or sold on a television screen (even though I do love me some History Documentaries on DVD). It’s a life of inner balance and fulfillment.
What gets you high? If there’s only one thing you can do for the rest of your days what would it be? What’s it going to take to make your dreams a reality? The reason why I ask these questions is because as I’m getting older, I’m realizing life comes and goes in the blink of an eye and we spend a majority of it just purely thinking about what we want to do instead of actually doing it. Is it because we like the fantasy of our dreams? Or are we just too scared to fulfill them?
As a child I was pretty insecure about myself and how people perceived me. I had this hunger to try to be accepted by everyone when really one can’t accept love until they can love them self (I wish I knew that while Mr. Puberty and I were still buddies). I was searching and searching for someone else to feed this hunger. What I didn’t realize is that no one else can give you what you need besides yourself.
Instead of looking outward, I started looking inward, and thats when I finally found what gets me high, Music. Instantly the little voices in my head slowly had nothing to say.
So where are your going with all this Andy?
Don’t be scared to follow your dreams. Yes, it’s going to be tough and you will be thrown on your ass plenty of times but it’s the fight that makes you stronger, it makes you who you are. It’s the fuel that makes this life worth living. If you just take a little time out of your day to listen to your inner voice and see what he or she wants, then we might win this war with insecurity, (or at least a truce)
Don’t be afraid to live passionately again like when we were kids.
Being sad is never fun and life is to short to be feeling that way all the time. Do whatever it takes to always keep a smile on your face. If this is our only ride on this world then might as well enjoy every ounce of it.
Stay happy and passionate,
